EXCAVATION AND COLLECTION OF CONTAMINATED SOIL AND/OR GROUNDWATER
Before the soil and/or groundwater contamination can be disposed or treated, it must first be excavated or treated. Soil excavation is relatively straight forward. The contaminated soil is removed using heavy equipment, characterized, then loaded into trucks for appropriate disposal. Soil disposal is usually only appropriate if the quantity of contaminated soil is small. If soil disposal is not feasible then groundwater collection and/or vapor collection systems can be installed.
