SEWAGE TREATMENT USING THE MODEL P
T. M. Gates, Inc. has developed the Model P, an innovative on-site wastewater treatment system that allows developers to build in locations that are not currently served by sewers. The Model P is designed for a relatively small flow (i.e., <3000 GPD) with a high BOD (i.e., >500 ppm). For example, the type of flow generated from a restaurant. The Model P is less expensive to build than a conventional activated sludge package plant, requires less maintenance and does not produce large quantities of sludge, which other wastewater treatment systems on the market can produce. The Model P is ideal for areas of the country that cannot discharge to surface waters due to stringent discharge limits and/or have poor soils (clay, silt) that will not readily accept treated sewage effluent.
